Week of 28 Sep - 4 Oct
What did you do this past week? I finished the project with my team. The main task I completed last week was the dynamic GitLab stats on the about page as well as some miscellaneous UI work.
What’s in your way? The midterm grind has paused for a bit, so I think I’ll just be working on ramping up Phase II and starting recently assigned projects and homework for other classes.
Week of 21 Sep - 27 Sep
What did you do this past week? This week I met with my team and started work on the project. So far I’m about 60% complete and most of the big tasks are done.
What’s in your way? My last assigned task for the project is the dynamic stats on the about page. It shouldn’t be too bad since GitLab has an API, but still thinking of a good way to dynamically count unit tests.
Week of 14 Sep - 20 Sep
What did you do this past week? I spent most of my time finishing up CS/Math projects for other classes. I also built a mini side project to help maintain all the projects I’m working on with desktop shortcuts (effectively shortcuts for shortcuts).
What’s in your way? Nothing, I’m this week was pretty relaxing so I think I’m ready to go for a busy week. It definitely feels like things are starting to settle down from what was a chaotic start of this semester.
Week of 7 Sep - 13 Sep
What did you do this past week? I finished the project! I spent quite a while on just reading the workflow over and over again to make sure I got everything but now it’s very satisfying to finally be done. I also attempted some more interesting optimizations to see if I could make it run even faster (for example: hardcoding a base65536 encoded gzip’d and struct-packed table for all 1M values) but I ended up just submitting the simplest version that passed the HackerRank.
Week of 31 Aug - 6 Sep
What did you do this past week? This week I started work on the collatz project. I’ve made it to step 8 in the workflow and so far so good. After a year of avoiding the pain/weirdness of install Docker on Windows, I finally got it to work!
What’s in your way? I incorrectly assumed that I’d have significantly more time with classes online so I signed myself up for a lot of things to do (classes, clubs, research, etc), but it looks like I might have overdone it.
